Twitter has assured users that all saved searches and workflows from the previous version of TweetDeck will be seamlessly transferred to the new iteration. Users transitioning to the updated version will also have the option to import their columns.
The latest version of TweetDeck introduces several notable features, including full composer functionality, Spaces integration, video docking, and the ability to conduct polls. However, Twitter has mentioned that the Teams functionality will be “temporarily unavailable” at this time.
Essentially, Twitter is offering a 30-day trial period for users to test the new TweetDeck before deciding whether to subscribe to Twitter Blue. During the past few days, many TweetDeck functions were inaccessible due to rate limits imposed by Elon Musk to prevent scraping.
Users have highlighted that TweetDeck is widely used by social media managers and brands. With the impending transition to a paid product within 30 days, users may explore alternative platforms that offer a more robust set of features.
After testing the new version of TweetDeck for several years, Twitter is now rolling it out globally under new management.
A Twitter employee, addressing the TweetDeck Twitter community, explained that the removal of legacy APIs was necessary to prevent scraping, which inadvertently affected the web app’s functionality. Over the weekend, Elon Musk implemented read limits, allowing non-verified users to read only up to 1,000 tweets per day, while verified users can access up to 10,000 tweets.
