Truecaller, a popular caller ID app, has introduced a new web client for Android users in India, enabling features such as number lookup and SMS mirroring. The web version is accessible via ‘web.truecaller.com’ and allows users to link their devices by scanning a QR code.
To activate Truecaller Web, follow these steps:
- Open the Truecaller app on your phone.
- Navigate to the Messages section and tap the three-dot menu.
- Click on ‘Truecaller for Web’, select ‘Link Device’, and scan the QR code displayed on ‘web.truecaller.com’ in your browser.
Key features of Web Client include:
- Sending and receiving SMS (requires app set as default SMS app).
- Attaching files up to 100MB in size.
- Real-time call alert notifications for incoming calls.
The web client is compatible with all modern browsers on Mac and PC. The app limits active sessions and automatically logs out users after 30 days of inactivity. Users can manually unlink a browser session, similar to WhatsApp and Telegram.
