Xiaomi Redmi 5 Launch Exclusively on Amazon India: Expected Price 7000

Xiaomi is set to launch a new Redmi phone in India today in an event that is scheduled to happen at 3PM. The device could most likely to be the Redmi 5, however, the name of the device is yet to be confirmed by the company. Today's launch event will be livestreamed on the official Xiaomi India website and also on the company's YouTube channel. You can also follow Xiaomi India's Facebook and Twitter handle for more information regarding the upcoming Redmi device. The upcoming smartphone will complete Xiaomi's affordable lineup for 2018 and will be an Amazon exclusive product.
The e-commerce major has created a page for the smartphone. The webpage says that the smartphone will be exclusive to Amazon. Along with this, like the other Xiaomi devices the customers will be able to purchase it from Mi.com and Mi Home Store. It is expected that the company might launch the smartphone at 3PM on March 14.
It features a 5.7-inch HD+ with 720x1440 pixel resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The display is protected with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass on top. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor paired with 2GB/3GB/4GB of RAM. The smartphone comes in 16GB and 32GB internal storage. The users will also be able to expand the storage by adding a microSD card.
The handset comes with a 12MP rear camera with LED flash and f/2.2 aperture. There is also a 5MP front camera with selfie flash. The selfie camera also come with company’s own proprietary Beautify 3.0 capabilities. Measuring 151.8x72.8x7.7mm, the smartphone comes equipped with a rear mounted fingerprint sensor and is backed by a 3,300 mAh battery. It is expected that the company might price the device around Rs 8,000.
Last week, Xiaomi launched its Mi TV 4A in India. The TV comes in two two screen options -- 32-inch and 43-inch. While the former is priced at Rs 13,999, the latter costs Rs 22,999. Both variants of the Mi TV 4A will go on sale on March 13 and will be available online on Flipkart and Mi.com, and offline through Mi Home stores.
