Elon Musk, owner of X (formerly known as Twitter), announces the expansion of Grok AI, an artificial intelligence chatbot developed by xAI, to all Premium subscribers of the platform. Initially available only with Premium+ subscriptions, this AI will now be accessible to Premium tier users as well, enhancing the user experience.
Musk’s announcement on X stated that Grok AI will be enabled for all premium subscribers later in the week, without specifying an exact date. The expansion is expected to roll out before April, benefiting users in 48 countries, including India.
In India, Premium+ subscribers currently pay Rs. 1,300 per month or Rs. 13,600 annually, while Premium subscribers pay Rs. 650 per month or Rs. 6,800 annually. Premium benefits now include access to Grok AI, along with fewer ads compared to Basic tier, enhanced reply boost, and the ability to write and publish articles directly on X.

Grok AI, powered by xAI’s Grok-1 large language model (LLM), offers features such as responding to questions, generating content, and engaging in conversations. The chatbot’s base model weights and network architecture were recently released in open source under the Apache 2.0 license, facilitating research and commercial usage.
