Samsung has joined forces with Terrain.art, an online platform powered by blockchain technology, to enhance the Art Store on The Frame lifestyle TV in India. The collaboration aims to introduce new contemporary artwork to enrich the existing collection of over 2,100 digital art pieces available through the Art Store.
According to Samsung, the latest collection features contemporary artworks created by young Indian artists, offering a fresh perspective on folk art, textile traditions, monuments, diversity, and more. These art pieces stand out with their vibrant colors, carefully drawn lines, and bold brush strokes.
The Art Store on Samsung’s The Frame TV continues to grow as a platform for art enthusiasts. The recently added contemporary artwork collection encompasses various artistic languages and covers a wide range of themes, from futurism and hope to ecology and migration.
Terrain.art, Samsung’s partner in this endeavor, is a blockchain-powered online platform that strives to establish a global ecosystem highlighting the best art practices from South Asia. While Samsung does not provide specific details about the nature of these new art pieces available through the Art Store, it does not mention whether they are NFTs (non-fungible tokens).
It is worth noting that Samsung lifestyle TVs technically support NFT transactions. The company introduced NFT buying and selling capabilities to its TVs last year through Nifty Gateway. Additionally, Samsung announced the forthcoming launch of a dedicated ArtToken NFT TV app a few months later.
